Are you holding onto something that is doing absolutely nothing except making you feel terrible and/or holding you back? In the spirit of Easter, let it go and realize that you are free to live an extraordinary life. If you aren't sure what I mean, do a mental inventory of everything you have thought about today or over the course of the past week. Have you thought about a situation that makes you feel terrible and that's about it? For instance, maybe your mother told you that you were doomed to fail as a child and when you think about this memory, you just feel like Hell. Today, we're going to discuss how to eliminate those memories and lighten up your mind so that you can achieve the things you want out of life.
Easter, within the Christian religion, is about Jesus Christ returning from the dead after his crucifixion. Even if you aren't of any particular faith, it's a great day to recognize that is very possible to rise again. Or, it is very possible to rise up out of any hopeless circumstance and even do it when everyone else has given up on you. So, no matter how bad your life is today, think about the possible fact that you can completely rise up and turn things around. You can even start something completely new. Today. You can let go of your past and start over.
So, let's talk about a common reason why we don't often realize how possible it is to just turn it all around. It sounds so easy on paper, right? However, most of us don't do this too often, because something has happened to us over the course of our life that creates a negative impression in our minds when it comes to going out there and turning things around. Something happened to us (either we did it to our own life or someone else did it to us) and we don't want to forget about it. Instead, we keep the feelings around. This can otherwise be known as "holding a grudge." When you hang on to these grudges, all that you are doing is holding yourself back! You are meant to naturally be happy and to do anything your heart wants to do, but these grudges act as negative cords that strap you down and make you stay down instead of getting back up.
The only anecdote to freeing our lives and our minds of these negative cords is forgiveness. Forgiveness is another one of those things that look easy on paper, but is hard to do in real life. But, it doesn't have to be. Remembering negative things that people have said to you in your past, remembering failed attempts at things you really want to do; these are all memories and thoughts that are destructive and self sabotaging. Despite what anyone has done to you, all of these thoughts are what wrecks your day and all of these thoughts are controlled by YOU! Until you let go of whatever it is that is holding you back in life, you are going to be stuck. Forgiveness isn't about letting the other person win or forgetting about things that are really important to you, it's about being able to move on without holding hatred inside of you.
