Pittsburgh Celebrates the 10th Annual Wine Festival
by Sarah Davis
A good bottle of wine can be hard to find. Whether you're entertaining or just love a glass of red wine at the end of your day, it can be difficult testing out certain wines. If they are high in price, you just don't feel as comfortable cooking with it, if you didn't like it. Cheaper wines, you can always save in the fridge for a pasta sauce, right? This is where the Pittsburgh Wine Festival comes into play.
On Thursday night, the Pittsburgh Wine Festival (located at Heinz Field's East and West Club Lounges) took place. Many wineries came out to pour samples of wine for attendees and share information on a beautiful night in Pittsburgh. Overall, the event was very impressive. Attendees were able to taste many different wines and at the end, were able to buy any bottles that they tried and loved.
What I loved about the Wine Festival is that while tasting a wine, you're able to ask any questions of representatives from the actual wine company. You definitely can't do this while shopping at a liquor/grocery store and if you go to a winery, you are only able to explore one brand of wine. At the Wine Festival, you have a handful of amazing wineries at your fingertips. You learn about new wines and what makes each wine special. The Pittsburgh Wine Festival is surely one of the most wonderful events that happens in Pittsburgh each year. I would highly suggest that you mark it on your calendar for next year!
