This Video Made My Day (Hint: It's By Marie Forleo)
On a personal note, I have been struggling with something that most of you will struggle with at some point when working: competition. Or, people who are out there doing the same thing as you and are offering the same stuff. Unfortunately, writing is hard because while direct plagiarism might be totally illegal, no one can stop other people from writing about the same thing as you. They can even steal your tone of voice and your demographic. It's all legal, it's all legit, you just have to learn how to bring your A-game when being different and offering the best product (whatever it may be) to the table. This happens to everyone who starts to succeed, so while it makes you feel like your brain is chilling in a blender (that is on, going full speed), you need to sit down, relax, and focus on how to make yourself stand out (or even, continue to stand out). What I want to say about this subject is that whenever you start to grow, you tend to forget about what you started with, because you might feel like you don't need it anymore, but that is what made you stand out in the first place, whatever that may be. After all, if everyone is trying to compete with you, that initial something must have been pretty amazing.
This morning, I woke up with all of this on my mind and in my inbox, was this video from Marie Forleo, who is basically a goddess when it comes to down-to-earth business advice. So, I will share her video with all of you, in the hopes that it shines a little light on this topic of standing out and resonates with you somehow, if you are going through something similar. I just thought it was an amazing life moment that demonstrated how connected we all are, because this video came to me, whether or not Marie knew about it, at the same exact time that I needed it. That is why I love the advice-business and how fast you can share your words with people all over the world through technology and social media: because the Universe has this way of delivering it to the right people who need it.
