Elisabeth Hasselbeck is out (finally!), Jenny McCarthy is in!

When the news broke that Jenny McCarthy was joining the show, I couldn’t have been happier. There are many critics who are against McCarthy joining the show because of her extreme opinions on vaccines and their link to autism and some are even boycotting the show, but I support Jenny. She is just the voice this show has been needing. Although, if it were up to me, I would throw Chelsea Handler in the ring with the ladies of The View, but I am pretty sure she is banned from the table. But, the fact that Jenny McCarthy and Chelsea Handler are close friends makes this that much better.
Barbara Walters said on Monday when announcing the new co-host, that “Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor. She can be serious and outrageous. She has connected with our audience and offers a fresh point of view. Jenny will be a great addition to the show as we usher in an exciting new chapter for 'The View.'"
Let me say, that I read Jenny’s books and I love her honesty. Belly Laughs is, in my opinion, one of the best pregnancy books around. I also read her column in the Chicago Sun Times and I love it. She is very open and hilarious and has been through enough in life (even if it includes tripping on E with Playboy pals back in the day-- a story she shared on Chelsea Lately) to have something to say about today’s hot topics.
I don’t mind The View, but I couldn’t even watch it because of Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Any time anyone said anything about anything, she had to speak up with a pretentious comment that sounded too Republican, too religious, or too self-righteous (especially when she would talk about her children or her fitness routine). Even her farewell speech last week was annoying and mute-worthy. I had to turn it off once she made a diva comment about Sherri Shephard.
